Walter Edward Spencer, Telegraph Agent at Campbell River Office

Walter Spencer inside the telegraph office which was located on the Island Hwy adjacent to the Campbell River Wharf. At this time, BC Tel service hadn't reached further than Courtenay and the people in Campbell River had no access to phones.
